Antique
furniture restoration
Specialist in furniture restoration and conservation of restoring period furniture, using traditional methods and materials whist restoring furniture sympathetically.
I have a selection of period materials including old Timber, Saw cut veneers and brassware.
Allowing the natural beauty of the timber to come through the polish, re-polishing your period furniture or sometimes making new timber look old. Using traditional methods and skills learnt over many years, polish is applied by hand and built up over a period of time using a rubber to apply the shellac polish.
Often with antique furniture you will see white or black ring marks across tops, those can be usually repaired without having to strip the furniture and loose the patina from it .
Am happy to discuss any issue with you regarding issues like this that you might have and how I will restore the furniture for you.
Missing brassware can be supplied and matched to your original items I can also have brass copied to match the original items. Able to supply most new locks and can cut new keys to old locks. Please ask me and I can discuss any question you might have about your period brassware.
Whist mainly restoring furniture from the 17th-18th century, I am able to repair and restore furniture from Edwardian period, Art Deco, retro and early 19th century .
